What is considered copyright?
Artistic works, phonographic productions, interpretations or performances, broadcasts and productions, both phonographic and audiovisual or similar, have reached a harmonized level of protection in most states and in particular in all European states.
They are defined as literary and artistic works: computer programs, audiovisual works, photographic works, works of architecture and works of applied arts, as long as they are original productions in the literary or artistic domain.
It should also be noted that original derivative works such as translations, adaptations, arrangements and other transformations, and compilations of works and compilations of simple data (databases) are protected.
Protection of the artist's rights
The author of a literary or artistic work has economic rights and moral rights over his works. These economic and moral rights are protected during the life of the author and 70 years after his death, with some exceptions.
Performers, phonographic producers and broadcasting organizations have certain economic and moral rights over their performances, productions and broadcasts, respectively, for a period of 50 years.
